About
I build software systems where software, hardware and industry meet.
I am an engineering student in computer science at CESI, graduating in 2027, and an apprentice in the Industrial IT Innovation department at Safran Landing Systems. How I got here is told on the home page.
Most of my work so far comes down to getting data out of machines and into tools that people rely on: on a shop floor, in a research lab, on servers a small company needs every morning. I care less about any one tool than about the boundaries between layers, from the sensor to the screen.
I build with the people who use the result: at Safran, the department behind the network, environment and services my tools reach, the operators whose screens and data I shape, the production planners and the operators’ managers; at BCIT MAKE+, the researcher the instrument was built for. On my own, I build industrial software for manufacturing SMEs within Dekrow, which is in development.
Where it is heading: I started by building things to understand how they work. I am now learning to turn that into products that hold up when other people depend on them.
Experience
Work and education, newest first, on one shared time axis.
Work
BCIT MAKE+Software and embedded systems research intern, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
I worked on PhysDAQ, a wearable research acquisition device, from its Zephyr firmware and USB and BLE links to the desktop application that records its data.
Work
Safran Landing SystemsApprentice, Industrial IT Innovation department, France
I built a Rust service linking USB RFID hardware to web applications, a tool management system end to end, and a lead-time prediction model for machined parts.
Work
TRITON Europe SASIT consultant, France
Alongside my studies, I looked after a Debian and Samba file server, the firewall, email, DNS and the website, and was on call for support.
Work
Safran Landing SystemsSoftware developer intern, France
I built a connected data logger for CNC machining centres, with live visualisation, an e-ink display and BLE, and automated the alerts around it in Node.js and Vue.js.
Education
CESIEngineering degree, computer science, France
A five-year engineering degree in computer science, followed alongside my apprenticeship at Safran Landing Systems since September 2024.
Education
St Martins CollegeHigh school, computing and technical drawing, Malta
Computing and technical drawing, in Malta.
Languages I use most: Rust, Go, TypeScript, C
