Problem

Positional data from CNC machining centres had to be collected automatically and made visible. When a value crosses a threshold, someone has to know, and later someone has to be able to look back at what happened.

What I built

During my internship at Safran Landing Systems, I built a connected data logger for CNC machining centres, in Node.js and Vue.js. It collects positional data automatically, stores it locally, and shows it live. It has an e-ink display and communicates over BLE.

Around it, I automated the alerts: values are monitored against thresholds, alerts are routed by e-mail, and every alert goes into a searchable history.

I built it with my department, which knows the network, the environment and the services it can reach; with operators, for the features and screens they need and the data they produce; with production planners; and with the operators’ managers.

Where it stands

It is in production, used since 2025, the year after my internship. About ten people receive the alert e-mails and can open the front end for the details. This work is confidential, so this page names no internal system and shows no architecture, URL or screenshot.
